The term carpet was originally defined in early Armenian times as "Karpet." The name has been interchangeably used by westerners who refer to carpets as rugs. Over time various weaving techniques were developed in other parts of the world as demand for these exotic handmade carpets along with competition grew. People started experimenting with different fibers as nature supported the industry with various natural raw materials. At Rainbow Collection Nepal, we have researched on these techniques and are able to provide our customers with rugs produced under most handmade weaving techniques that exist in the world today. The basic and most common techniques for 90% of all rugs produced under machinemade and handmade circumstances are cut, loop, high, and low pile. However, at Rainbow Collection Nepal we have gone the extra way to provide our customers with more refined techniques like Flatweave (Soumak), Shag (Shaggy), and Tapka. This way we have ensured customer satisfaction to many of our clients' end consumers as we weave a dream for their beautiful homes.
