"Weaving Dreams" - The technique

The term carpet was originally defined in early Armenian times as "Karpet." The name has been interchangeably used by westerners who refer to carpets as rugs. Over time various weaving techniques were developed in other parts of the world as demand for these exotic handmade carpets along with competition grew. People started experimenting with different fibers as nature supported the industry with various natural raw materials. At Rainbow Collection Nepal, we have researched on these techniques and are able to provide our customers with rugs produced under most handmade weaving techniques that exist in the world today. The basic and most common techniques for 90% of all rugs produced under machinemade and handmade circumstances are cut, loop, high, and low pile. However, at Rainbow Collection Nepal we have gone the extra way to provide our customers with more refined techniques like Flatweave (Soumak), Shag (Shaggy), and Tapka. This way we have ensured customer satisfaction to many of our clients' end consumers as we weave a dream for their beautiful homes.

Discovering Ideas...AND PROTECTING THEM

Yesterday we finally finished setting up the admin area of our new office. The past few months have been hectic with the office setup and work at the same time. However i believe there is still a lot to achieve and goals to be set with our new business strategy. More to research and discover and a lot more to protect the ideas being developed. I think this is one of the biggest flaws of the Nepalese carpet industry that we have never been able to protect our own ideas and weaving techniques. That is why i believe our industry is so vulnerable to the outside world. The solution at the moment...to blindly trust people and believe that new ideas that you researched, new techniques that you developed will not be publicized to some other manufacturer. That is the sad truth of our industry.
