DYEING HAND KNOTTED NEPALESE RUGS

This pot dyes upto 5kgs of raw materials. We use Swiss dyes
FREE from Azo based harmful compounds. Another reason
why hand knotted Nepalese Tibetan rugs are considered one
of the best in the world
Smaller lots ranging from 1 to 2 kilos are dyed in smaller pots
Our pot dyeing technique ensure superior color fastness and
prevents colors from bleeding all over the rug
This 50Kg pot is used for dyeing bigger lots.

"Where There Is A Will, There Is RAINBOW"

We pride ourselves on not only being one of the many rug manufacturers in Nepal, but also one of the very few that have an exclusive research and development team who provide customers with design services. Currently we are researching on some very complicated Ikat textures to be able to provide customers with these designs on rugs that are found on traditional Indian sarees. Many people believe that Ikat patterns have one of the most intriguing textures in the world and if produced on a rug, they can maximize the beauty of homes in more ways one can imagine. We are currently on a quest to conquer this goal and provide our customers with one more quality than we already have in our collection for them to have a competitive edge over others in the industry.

"Weaving Dreams" - The technique

The term carpet was originally defined in early Armenian times as "Karpet." The name has been interchangeably used by westerners who refer to carpets as rugs. Over time various weaving techniques were developed in other parts of the world as demand for these exotic handmade carpets along with competition grew. People started experimenting with different fibers as nature supported the industry with various natural raw materials. At Rainbow Collection Nepal, we have researched on these techniques and are able to provide our customers with rugs produced under most handmade weaving techniques that exist in the world today. The basic and most common techniques for 90% of all rugs produced under machinemade and handmade circumstances are cut, loop, high, and low pile. However, at Rainbow Collection Nepal we have gone the extra way to provide our customers with more refined techniques like Flatweave (Soumak), Shag (Shaggy), and Tapka. This way we have ensured customer satisfaction to many of our clients' end consumers as we weave a dream for their beautiful homes.

Discovering Ideas...AND PROTECTING THEM

Yesterday we finally finished setting up the admin area of our new office. The past few months have been hectic with the office setup and work at the same time. However i believe there is still a lot to achieve and goals to be set with our new business strategy. More to research and discover and a lot more to protect the ideas being developed. I think this is one of the biggest flaws of the Nepalese carpet industry that we have never been able to protect our own ideas and weaving techniques. That is why i believe our industry is so vulnerable to the outside world. The solution at the moment...to blindly trust people and believe that new ideas that you researched, new techniques that you developed will not be publicized to some other manufacturer. That is the sad truth of our industry.

"In this life we can't do great things. We can only do small things with great value" ~ Mother Teresa

Rainbow Collection Nepal and its family has always been a firm believer in humanitarian work from the very beginning. Ms. Laxmi Tuladhar, co-founder of "Helpless Children School" in Kirtipur, Nepal is a true humanitarian. Even in her 60's and with various health problems, she does not step back in giving to the unfortunate children of Nepal. Ms. Laxmi Tuladhar AKA my grandmom is also the founder and Principal of Mount Green English School in Kathmandu, Nepal where she provides quality education to children of the primary school upto grade 5. I am proud to announce myself a product of this prestigious institution and many others, some of whom have become doctors or studying abroad.

Rainbow Collection Nepal is proud to be a co-sponsor of "Helpless Children School". We donate part of our revenue to this institution to help Mrs. Laxmi Tuladhar provide the kids with necessary school supplies and uniforms. If you are a giver and would like to be a part of the donation team for these children, please contact us at compassion@rainbownepal.com
